Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (D-TX) has introduced legislation (HR2662) to end the immoral Remain in Mexico policy by taking away the funding that supports it - YOUR tax dollars that are being used to separate families and deny the right to seek asylum to thousands. Plus, Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX) is circulating a “Dear Colleague” letter calling for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to immediately terminate MPP. The bill has 48 co-sponsors and the letter has 42 co-signers. But this is not enough!
Congressman Wm. Lacy Clay (D-MO) has not signed on to support either the bill or the letter.
This means he needs to hear from you! Please call his DC office, send him a tweet, pop in to his STL office, send an email - or all of the above - so that he knows that Missouri need his leadership now!

It would put an end to the immoral Remain in Mexico policy that endangers lives. The policy goes against American values which we should aspire to uphold. I am alarmed that we are sending vulnerable people to dangerous conditions in a country foreign to them when they are already fleeing danger in their home countries - especially when we share responsibility in creating the conditions they flee. All people should be able to wait safely in the US during their asylum proceedings, where they can have full access to appropriate legal counsel and community support. My community welcomes and values immigrants, I urge you to do the same."
