You can invest in IFCLA’s exciting vision in many ways: consider becoming a member of the 2022 Advisory Board, bringing your congregation into the new Congregational Partners Committee, nominating yourself or others for the Expert Committee, applying to join the Board of Directors, investing in our financial stability by joining our Sustainer Tearm and volunteering in one of our many dynamic programmatic efforts. There is a place for YOU at IFCLA!

  • The Board of Directors is an integral governing body of IFCLA and is responsible for strategic direction and financial health of the organization.

    • Participates in collaborative spaces with community partners to work toward an intersectional approach to immigrant justice

    • Stewards IFCLA’s mission and vision to community partners across the state

    • Leads the organization to implement new tools for power-sharing and collaboration

    • Meets once a month for about 2 hours during the year

  • IFCLA is forming an Expert Committee: a group of individuals who are directly impacted by the racism and colonial structures that are maintained by federal and state laws. This Expert Committee will develop the plan that IFCLA will follow in order to become a statewide organization that is inclusive, immigrant-led and committed to building the power we need to bring about systemic changes that honor the dignity of all people.

    • Co-creates knowledge through relationships and shared experiences as directly impacted individuals

    • Participates in collaborative spaces with statewide partners working in intersectional justice issues

    • Meets monthly

    • Stipend available for participants

  • The Advisory Committee is a tool to bring together perspectives and expertise and seek advice and invite critical discussion of ideas and issues during its 3-year statewide transition.

    • Provides feedback and guidance offered on a specific topic or issue relating to IFCLA’s organizational transition

    • Approaches collaboration with equity-driven solutions to organizational challenges

    • Meets 2-4 times per year

  • The Congregational Partners Committee is a new space for leadership in IFCLA and an intentional effort to include voices, perspectives and wisdom from people from diverse faith communities. Committee members will work toward the following:

    • Engages congregations as partners in IFCLA’s mission

    • Extends programmatic opportunities to reach congregants previously not engaged

    • Meets 2-4 times per year

  • Teams of volunteers accompany individuals to check-ins with immigration authorities. For more information on the Accompaniment program, click here.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

    • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

    • Clergy highly encouraged to participate

    • Available during 9-5 hours Monday - Friday

  • During these all day clinics, we support individuals in filling out the asylum application. There are several roles:

    • Interpreters: bilingual (English/Spanish)

    • Attorneys

    • Runners: copying and scanning documents

    • Tech support

    • Childcare assistants

    • Greeters: bilingual (English/Spanish)

    • Food prep

  • During these clinics, we support asylum seekers in filling out work permit applications. Through this clinic, individuals not only receive a work permit, but also a social security number and card.

    • Interpreters: bilingual (English/Spanish)

    • Runners: copying and scanning documents

    • Tech support

    • Greeters: bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Individuals will help plan meaningful gatherings and events to celebrate immigrants and fund IFCLA’s work. Volunteers should be able to fulfill one of the following roles:

    • Attend planning meetings and provide input

    • Set-up and tear-down of event

    • Greeters

    • Filming and photography

    • Video editing

    • Available to interpret during events and special meetings

  • IFCLA is working towards being an inclusive and anti-racist organization. Intersectional to this mission is developing plans to advocate for language justice.

    • Bilingual (English and one other language)

    • Available to interpret during events and special meetings

    • Translates written communications as needed

  • Sustainers are the fundamental fuel for our vision! They are recurring donors who ensure sustainability of funds to continue the organization's work for many years to come.

    • Monthly recurring commitment

    • Minimum of $10 per month

    • Access to Sustainers-Only social events
