IFCLA’S Anti-Oppression Commitment

IFCLA commits to be an antiracist and intersectional co-conspirator of the immigrant community in the struggle for human rights in Missouri. Conscious of the diverse identities, standpoints, power relations, and needs within this community, we echo that LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s autonomy over their bodies, and racial justice, are inseparable components in the fight for equality and the abolition of the border imperialism that prevails in the United States.

Guided by solidarity and justice, we commit to do everything in our power to support these struggles through our praxis, our programs, our institutional language, and our policies. We commit to collaborate with vanguard organizations dedicated to these causes. We commit to not solicit or accept funds from any organization, congregation, or entity that fails to stand for the dignity of all people. And we commit to remain in a state of learning and adaptability, to ensure accountability and best practices.

There is no love in discriminating against people due to their race, ethnicity, nationality, migration status, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, romantic orientation, body type, body choices, ability, age, religious belief or lack of it. Our struggle is indivisible.
