Alex Garcia had no other option but to seek the protection of sanctuary by moving into Christ Church UCC on September 21, 2017. Alex lived inside the church for 1,252 days, until he was able to claim his temporary freedom and leave the church on February 24, 2021. While Alex and his family are thankful for this much-needed step in the right direction, they are committed to securing Alex’s permanent protection from deportation so their family - and all families - can live freely.
