ALL DAY Online Day of Action: #1095 reasons why #AlexBelongsHere
Stand with Alex today by participating in 3 online actions: post a selfie, sign the pledge, sign a petition.

  1. SELFIE. Print out this template and write in your message. Then share a selfie holding your sign on social media. Please include the following handles and hashtags: @AlexBelongsHere #AlexBelongsHere #1095

Feeling spicy? Skip the printing and make a short video to complete the sentence, “I stand with Alex because…”. Then share your video message with the same handles and hashtags.

Not on social media? No problem! Snap a selfie and email it to ifcla@ifcla.net - we can post it for you!

  2. PLEDGE CARD. After reflecting on Alex’s sacrifice and the Garcia Family’s struggle these last 3 years, please take a moment to wrestle with the moral obligations that linger in your heart. How will you be transformed? Then, click here to sign the pledge card and commit to standing alongside Alex and his family moving forward.

  3. PETITION. Click here to sign a petition to Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden, encouraging him to commit now that he will take swift, immediate action on DAY 1 if elected, to free Alex and all those living in sanctuary, reunite their families, and lay the foundation for permanent unity.

6:00pm How Did We Get Here? Film and Discussion
Courtesy of Hostile Terrain 94 and the Undocumented Migrant Project, we will offer the film Border South, which offers an intimate perspective on undocumented migration from Central America to the US, available for viewing at no cost on your own computer! Check out the trailer here. After you register (using this link), you’ll receive details for how to access and view the film online. Please make time to watch the 90-minute documentary before our discussion on Wednesday evening.

Then, join Attorney Nicole Cortes from the MICA Project and Sara John from IFCLA for a discussion to help us understand how US laws and policies have shaped Alex’s circumstances in this country. We look forward to sharing some clips of the film throughout the evening, but please make time to watch it in advance. Click here to register. *Registration IS required for this event.
