What is Lotería?
IFCLA has been accompanying the peoples of Latin America in their struggles for human rights and social justice since 1982. The important justice movement we are part of has only intensified over the years, as migrant and other vulnerable communities face greater challenges, and the need for education and action around key issues steadily rises. Lotería is often referred to as “Mexican Bingo”. For anyone who has had the opportunity to play Lotería, will find similarities in playing American Bingo. Except it is played with pictures instead of numbers. The proceeds from this event are used to provide ongoing programming and educational opportunities and will support our organizing efforts to build powerful relationships in the pursuit of human rights and social justice. If you would like to learn more on the history of Lotería you may go here.
