Militarization, Incarceration and Privatization in Honduras: A Conversation with Activist Karen Spring

  • Schlafly Bottleworks 7260 Southwest Avenue Maplewood, MO, 63143 United States (map)

Karen Spring is a human rights defender based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Over the last decade she has investigated and exposed the Honduran government's implementation of an extreme right-wing pro-corporate agenda. Karen tracks grassroots resistance to land theft and resource extraction by U.S. and Canadian corporations and how our governments facilitate efficient exploitation. Karen will trace connections between the growing prison system in Honduras, the arrests of peaceful protestors and discuss the realities of post reelection in Hondras, inviting you to help free the 37 known political prisoners.

This event is free, but there is a $1-10 sliding scale suggested donation that will go to support Karen's travels. There will also be drinks and food available for purchase at the Schlafly Bottleworks.
